I seem to be adding more steps each day! I am dead tired, and my feet hurt greatly… aside from the gout that is. The gout is truly havoc on me…. and yet I am pushing through. I am amazed at the human body.

Week 010 – Day 061

I hit 20,000 steps yesterday!!! Beat it by 420 steps! I was dying by the end, and just kept pushing forward. Interesting that I am doing so. I never would have just weeks ago! My gout flare up continues…. and I am medicating even more. It takes me a while to be able to walk, but eventually works itself out with the pain of the walk instead of the gout. 20,000 steps is taking me 2.5 hours…. an entire movie, plus some!! I find I am exhausted more than ever now. I cannot stay awake at night to be with my wife and watch what shows we do together. The Indomethecin takes much out of me too.

Week 010 – Day 060

GOUT!!! Terrible stuff. I am taking Indomethecin even though the Dr recommended I don’t. I have no other option. I am not sure how to control something when I am not eating anything that would cause it. Wait a minute… I changed to bars twice daily. Do they have sugar on them? That would do it! Hmmmm My feet really hurt.. and my gout is now settling in my left ankle, making it hard to walk at all…. and is VERY painful!! I am frustrated that this is happening. Even so, I am bound for that 20,000 steps in a day. Maybe today?!!

Sabbath Day…. I have decided to walk in the morning to stop my leg from swelling during the inactivity of Sunday and Sabbath. My feet really hurt.. and my gout is in both feet today…. I press on!!

Week 010 – Day 057

Spoke to the Dr. about my Gout and being tired. Norma, our nutritionist recommended I take on another 160 calorie product to counter ct all the walking I am doing. The Dr decided to stay the course with what I have. For what I am in-taking, we did switch away from the soups, and replaced them with 7 protein bars. I have also decided to push myself harder… and to try to finally get 20,000 steps in one day. Is it even possible for me? I will find out.

Week 009 – Day 055

I walked so much yesterday I was absolutely exhausted and in great pain. You know the kind,.. when you joints are pulsating in pain with your heartbeat. It was extremely unconformable and yet I cannot stop pushing forward. I have a fear that if I do, that will slip backward faster than ever. I don’t want to be that way again. It is also hard to hear other tell me to possibly cut my walks shorter so that I don’t feel as bad each day. I cannot explain why I am pushing so hard. I just know that if I take a lessor path, that I will slip… and that may cost me my life this time.
Daniel continues to progress, now at 33 lbs lost. He has gained that confidence that men have when they feel good of themselves…. something I think he has lacked for over a decade. I am happy to see him with confidence now. He is doing amazing things! He told me he is aiming to be under 300 lbs by this Saturday!
I hope that I am able to pull such a thing off soon. Right now I am plugging away to get into the 330’s…. which is a giant step for me.

Walked mostly alone today, but did more than I have ever done. My goal used to be 2,000 steps, then 5,000, then 8,000, then 10,000, now I am doing over 15,000 daily and shooting for 20,000! IT CAN BE DONE!!! All we need do is try.
