Week 007 – Day 040

I am looking forward to tomorrow’s weigh-in. I have really been pushing hard in my activity levels, and because so, my body is very hungry all the time. I will speak with the class tomorrow at what can be done. Of the pain in my leg, it has become more centralized, now only painful in a smaller area. I am wondering if I may have been bitten by something. I cannot see any marks, and thee is no swelling. The pain, however, is intense still, and I cannot touch the spot that it is.
I find myself thinking about how much longer I must be on this program. Even knowing it is saving my life, I am getting tired of not being able to eat food. As I stated, now MY BODY is shooting these weird feelings to me, and my brain is actually thinking it needs to eat. I cannot explain it better than that. It is truly a non pleasant feeling. Very strange.

Week 007 – Day 040

It’s HOT!!! Even in the morning when we walk. By the end of the walk, I can barely stand, and I am completely parched. Plus… something is happening to the rear of my right leg… where that sire originally opened a month ago.  I cannot even touch that area without having extreme pain…. and it aches as I type this. I will contact the Dr. tomorrow.
Daniel has reported to me that he has been doing a stair climber at the gym sometime after we have done our walks. He is amazed at how he is feeling, and the range of movement he suddenly has again. He says he feels like he can conquer anything now! That is awesome!

Very tired, and pushing hard with walking. I am in great pain, and yet I am able to walk miles!! I have also noticed something new. I am not craving food, but I am getting signals from my body to eat food…. which is really weird. I have never had this feeling before… even while homeless.

Week 007 – Day 037

I miss food. The more I think how much I miss it, the more I find myself thinking of eating it all when I complete this course. This is something I must resist, keeping to the schedule I set daily when I do get back to normal life. The more I walk and swim in a day, the more tired I am. I know.. that is normal life, but what I mean by tired is complete exhaustion, barely able to even lift my arms. I cannot even think properly. This is something the Program Dr.’s tell us to watch closely. I reported it on my last turned in sheet. The pain in my Liver area comes and goes, and is a stabbing pain. I am not convinced it is Liver related at this time however. As I type this, I find myself disturbed with the way I feel, and lack of thought process I am going through… and I am quite grumpy.

Week 007 – Day 036

It is obvious to me now that my youthful ability to lose weight fast is gone. I am working extremely hard with m,y walking and swimming and activity each day, and I managed to squeak out 5.4 lbs for the week. I believe my body is in fasting mode…. and has begun storing what I eat instead of burning it all. This may be why I am exhausted all day. That stated, continuing the program and rigorous activity each day will eventually break that cycle, and the weight loss flood gates may be opened again. After all… I have now lost 61 pounds in 5 five weeks!!
My friend Daniel has been joining me now for a consistent week. His being with me actually pushes me to go farther, and endure more than I would have on my own. He has lost about 5 pounds this week and continues his activity at the Gym after he leaves me. Daniel, like me just weeks ago, could barely move and was in constant pain. Now he tells me today that he feels great, and feels like a man again. It is true that when we had become somewhat helpless through what we had done to ourselves, and we had lost confidence in even being human. I know now that feeling is an illusion that is meant to keep us down. With that stated, and not to go biblical, but it is true…. the Adversary works in obvious ways to make us believe we are worthless. We must fight that illusion! As we look to the Light, giving ourselves unto the Father, we find Redemption is real, and the debt paid. All we need do is try, serve others, and endure in all things and we find happiness and the ability to do anything we think of. BELIEVE and YOU WILL SEE!!

The past two days the heat has been great where I live.. and we are now walking an hour earlier. Still, the pain in my knees is tremendous once again, and I fear I may be doing even worse damage to them. The Doctors had informed me there was little left of what cushions my knees, and yet due to my size, they could not do knee replacements while I was that large. I therefore must hike through the pain, as extreme as it is. I am finding each day much easier now to resist food want. The dietary intake has now taken hold, and become a regular routine for me. That stated, as a “foodie”, I still find myself wanting the food, it is just not tearing at me any longer. This is a great thing. The third week was most difficult with that. I am glad that is over. I had explained to my good friends yesterday what my plan is to remain in good health after this program, and they agreed it was a great plan. I believe it is, and I believe I will not fail. Especially having burned into my memory what my life was like just 5 weeks ago. I am a different man already. I can move… and I am walking 6 miles each day now, and swimming too! I am very tired from the middle to the end of each day as I am burning 4,000 calories while only taking in by the end of each day 970 calories. Many ask me, “Have you cheated at all with food?”… and my answer is no. from the day we started this food exchange, I have remained 100% committed to doing this program exactly the way I am instructed. If you are reading this, and think you could not do it…. believe me when I tell you that you can! You CAN take back your health for a better life!

Week 006 – Day 033

I am tired… greatly tired. I have to pull myself up all day. Also, I am getting concerned of my Liver, and three times now I have been feeling pain there. That stated, it may be gas as well. The products make me have gas at times. Something else… suddenly the soup I have enjoyed for the past 4 weeks (tomato) is unbearable. The taste mixed with texture is making me gag. Very strange as this changed in just two days. Hmmmm. I am now going to chicken soup entirely for my dinner meal. I hope I don’t tire of it as fast. My walking continues in great stride… and my joints are hurting and frozen by mid-day.

Week 006 – Day 032

Not hungry today. We even went and traded Melanie’s car in for a new one. Food smells everywhere. That stated, I still want the food and fantasize now of being able to eat again. This time, however, I will keep myself under control with planned portions, and calorie counting. I am excited to be human again. I may run again yet! Funny thing, we came home from Church yesterday… which was Father’s Day…. and people were barbecuing next door. That smell was amazing, and truly hung in my yard…lol. I did not falter. I really believe I am being helped here… not only by my amazing wife, family and friends, but also Him who led me into that weight management office to begin with. I stand amazed. I asked for solution… He answered, literally leading me into that office. I pray for strength, and I am provided with it. I feel quite blessed. I know there is much work to do, and I know I will be able to do all in Him. I suppose “amazed” isn’t the right word. GRATEFUL is!
